Movie Night at Columbia Lakefront

Join Columbia Dogs on the Go for a dog friendly movie, "Hotel for Dogs", at the downtown Columbia Lakefront. The movie is shown outdoors on a big screen next to Clyde's Restaurant starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. Bring your own chair or blanket and drinks or snacks and don't forget to bring your dog. For those who are hungry Clydes and Tomato Palace are open and each have outdoor dining which accepts dogs.

P.S. Please note that several members have commented that Clydes and Tomato Place actually do not accept dogs on their outdoor patios. While they may have overlooked a few in the past, let's not expect them to break the rules. Consider bringing a picnic lunch, or ordering carry-out. Another option is the Lakeside Cafe, which is open until 8 pm and allows dogs at its outdoor tables. There is no table service, so you must go inside (without your dog), order and bring it out.

I just called Clyde's (410)-730-2828 and asked about dogs on the patio - they told me No - it is a Columbia Association Rule. The person I spoke with did say that they could try to seat you at one of the tables along the perimeter of the patio and you could attach your dog to a light-post where you could see them while eating. Hmmmm...I guess there is always take-out and picnicing on the hillside before the movie.

We ended up getting there early by mistake around 7:20 and asked everyone there we saw with a dog if they were from Columbia Dogs on the Go. We didn't see any familiar faces. We placed ourselves where there was room to grow and add more dog lovers but only saw one couple come with 2 dashunds after that and they preferred to sit closer to the screen. There were a lot of small children that kept wanting to pet the dogs throughout the movie and even sit with us instead of their family. Thanks for telling us about this. Judy

I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet up with the other Columbia Dogs folks, but I loved the experience. The film was adorable and I found myself giggling through many of the scenes.

Enjoyed the movie, found Wendy, Pia, Sarah and Cynthia. Would have liked to have found the rest of the CDOG group. Tess barked several times when the dogs on screen barked. Cute! I think she was watching the movie....

Enjoyed the movie and so did my dog Gracy (or maybe it was just the treats). Surprisingly, Gracy and many dogs did sit still and behave for most of the movie. Whether the dogs really watched it, we'll never really know.
