Savage Park - Wincopin Trail

Barbara and Rob Miller are our newest assistant organizers and will be leading this great walk! It should be exceptionally pretty this time of year.

The trail we will be walking is about 1.5 miles through a wood-chip covered path (red trail), here is a map of the trail for those that are unfamiliar or would like to check out the area. From this parking area, there are three wooded trails running along side rivers and streams, which our dog sometimes like to jump in for a quick cooling off! If it rains the day before, the trail is often muddy, so you might want to prepare for a clean off after the walk before getting back in the car. For the most part the walk is easy with a few inclines along the way.

If you are feeling up to a snack, there are a few small cafes driving distance from the park in Historic Savage Mill, about a 5 minute drive. Dogs are not allowed inside, but there are outside seating areas if the weather permits.

LOCATION

We will be meeting at the Wincopin Trail head parking lot on Vollmerhausen Road. The lot is about half a mile south from the intersection of Savage Guildford Road.

This was really a beautiful early autumn walk. The trail and the park are very pretty, and the company--dogs and humans--was terrific. Thanks, Barbara and Rob, for leading this!
