If you would like to see a dog park established in Columbia, please consider submitting an e-mail request to Columbia Board Members ASAP. The Columbia Association is near the end of their budgeting deliberations for FY 2013 (1 May 2012 - 30 Apr 2013) and FY 2014 (1 May 2013 - 30 Apr 2014).
They had $10K funding allocated in both FY 2011 and the current FY 2012 for Dog Park Planning. To date very little of these funds have been used and there is no funding in the proposed CA budget for FY 2013 or FY 2014 for Dog Park Implementation. On Thursday February 2nd (today)at 7:30 PM the CA Planning & Strategy Committee (PSC) is hosting a Board work session to discuss capital projects for FY 2013 & 2014. The establishment of a dog park would be a capital project. This work session is probably the last time there will be a real discussion on the Dog Park topic before the Board votes on the Budget. If you want to have an impact on this issue send an e-mail to the Board members before their discussion on the evening of February 2nd. The e-mail addresses of the board members are: "Tom Coale" <tcoale@gmail.com>, "Ed Coleman" <lrca@ecoleman.org>, "Michael Cornell" <michaelcornell@comcast.net>, "Cynthia Coyle" <cashcoyle2@aol.com>, "Alex Hekimian" <alexhekimian@hotmail.com>, "Phil Kirsch" <pwkirsch@comcast.net>, "Phillip Nelson" <phillip.nelson@columbiaassociation.c |
