In a few months my dog Caliber and I will be relocating to the Beltsville, MD area, since I'll be accepting a federal position. Caliber is my priority, so I am seeking advice as to where the best local dog-friendly trails and parks are in the area. Any nearby rental places between DC and Baltimore will be considered.

That being said...if anyone knows of a dog-friendly houseshare or rental situation, please let me know. Caliber is intact, but submissive due to being raised with his dominant brother. My ex is keeping the brother in NY, so it is important that Caliber quickly and frequently meets new friends. I would like to rent for 6-12 months until I can get my bearings. I do not intend to pay extra for a short-term lease or for having a dog. If we're happy and the situation works for both dog-owners, then we can continue the arrangement. Considering my past rental history, my list of reputable personal and professional references, and my fun/happiness-seeking philosophies, I am confident that renting to us would not be a regrettable experience.

For the record, I am a socially and physically-active, emotionally-secure, professional woman with an masters degree, a low tolerance for drama nonsense and zero tolerance for chemical dependency (illegal drugs, alcohol, mood stabilizers, etc).

For further discussion, please email me via meetup.

Hi Melanie. I'm right down the street from Beltsville, in Laurel. I take my dogs to the dog park not far from where I live but down the road from Beltsville. It's off of Van Dusen Road and Alan Road. Let me know when you will be down this way, and I can meet you there.

Most definitely. Lived here almost all my life so I know the area well. When will you be down this way?

I have a single family 3 bedroom home in Columbia, MD with a fenced yard and 2 of my own dogs and might be willing to do a short term rental to start. It is a very friendly dog community but no rentals if your breed is one of the "restricted breeds" even if mixed and friendly. Not sure how to contact you with further information. I am new to this site. Debbi
