Is anybody interested in play dates? My dog, Natty, is quite the player but prefers small groups (one or two dogs) to big groups. - Marge

Lyra would love a smaller group meetup- she gets shy with too many pups running around. Typical Sheltie caution!

Perhaps the best way to organize such play dates will be for everyone interested to express interest on the message board (i.e., "My dog and I are up for smaller play dates in principle") and then for us to contact each other individually, over email, to set up actual play dates? Michelle - I'll drop you an email now.

I live in carroll county, and since there are no dog parks here, I'd love to find someone who has a home with a fence and has dogs that want to play. Mine is about 1 year old and is dog friendly, but still a wee bit untrained, so I can't really let her off-leash. Let me know if you all do something with this. :)

Hi Mary,
You're welcome to come play at our house. We have a fully fenced in yard covering about 1.5 acres. My dog can't be let off leash either - his nose always wins out over his ears. The only catch is that, because of the weather, we haven't been doing any play dates recently. The dogs get too hot too fast. But when things cool down we'll get back into it, so let's keep in touch. Marge, that would fantastic. :) Thanks so much for offering. If I had my own house, I'd get a fence, but... ;) Plan to take mine tubing tomorrow from Monkton to try it out. :) Weather is definitely starting to cool, so I look forward to those play dates! Let me know if I can bring anything. (I'm guessing most dogs are a bit 'toy agressive' but don't really know about mine, so maybe toys are out?)
